Nuxeo
Nuxeo is a document management platform for organizing folders, documents, and business information. Once it is connected to Ordalie, you can browse that content directly from your workspace, the assistant, and @ mentions, without copying anything out of your Nuxeo instance.
Who can set it up
Nuxeo is an organization-level connection, so only an organization administrator can set it up. The connection is owned by the organization rather than by one person's account, and it is available to the members of your organization. Day-to-day, anyone on the team can browse and search the connected content; adding, changing, or removing the connection stays with administrators.
Connecting Nuxeo
You can start from either of two places. In your workspace, open the Connect a source panel from the left sidebar and look under the Enterprise & Admin section. Or open Settings, go to the Integrations tab, and find Nuxeo under Organization Integrations. Both lead to the same place. If you are not an administrator, the organization connectors appear locked, and you will be prompted to reach out to an admin rather than connect them yourself.
Before you begin, it helps to have your Nuxeo details ready. You will need the base URL of your Nuxeo instance, which must use https, along with a user and a password or application key that has read access to the spaces you want to make available. You can also set an optional root path, such as /default-domain/workspaces, to limit what Ordalie sees to a single part of your Nuxeo tree.
When you open Nuxeo, fill in the Nuxeo URL, the username, the password or API key, and the root path if you are using one. Ordalie then validates the connection in a few steps: it checks the credentials, lists the root, and runs a test search. Once those pass, your Nuxeo content shows up as a source in the workspace.
How it works
Your Nuxeo folders appear as a file tree in the Documents section of the sidebar, and you can open them straight from your workspace. Searching by name runs against Nuxeo's own queries and stays within the root path you set, so results never reach outside the scope you chose. Files that have downloadable content can be retrieved and read by the assistant, which means you can analyze them, pull facts from them, or bring them into a conversation through an @ mention.
Some Nuxeo objects carry useful information but have no downloadable file attached. In those cases Ordalie can present the object as a record.yaml file so the metadata is preserved and the assistant can still read it. The connection is read-only: you can browse, search, and analyze your Nuxeo content, but writing and deleting are not supported. For safety, Ordalie requires an https address, blocks private or local URLs outside development, and applies time limits to each request.
Restricting access
If you only want part of your Nuxeo instance visible in Ordalie, set a root path when you connect it and use a Nuxeo account whose permissions match the scope you intend to share. Ordalie will only show, and only search, what that account and that path allow.
