IMAP
Ordalie can connect to your mailbox over IMAP so your emails and their attachments are available right where you work. In your workspace this connection is called Other mailboxes, and it works with any IMAP-compatible mailbox. Gmail and Outlook have their own dedicated connections, so use those for a Google or Microsoft account; Other mailboxes is for everything else — a mailbox hosted by your firm, your provider, or a private server.
It is a personal connection: you connect your own mailbox against your own account, and it stays private to you. If your organisation keeps a shared mailbox that an administrator sets up for the whole team, that is a separate connection called Shared mailboxes. Connecting a mailbox requires a Pro plan.
To connect it, open Connect a source from the left side of your workspace, or go to Settings → Integrations and choose Other mailboxes. You will be asked for your IMAP server, your username, and your password — or an app-specific password if your provider uses one. The server is entered as a single address in the form imaps://imap.example.com:993, or imap+starttls://imap.example.com:143 if your provider uses STARTTLS. If you are with IONOS, OVHcloud, Infomaniak or Gandi, you can pick the provider to fill the server in for you; otherwise you enter it yourself.
Once connected, your mailbox appears alongside your other sources. You can browse your folders, point the assistant to a specific email in a conversation, and have it read an attachment without downloading anything first. Messages are fetched only when they are actually needed, and reading one through Ordalie does not mark it as read in your mailbox.
