Gmail
Connecting Gmail brings your mailbox into Ordalie, so your emails and their attachments sit alongside your other sources. You can search through your correspondence, pull specific messages into a conversation with the assistant, and have attachments read and analysed without leaving your workspace.
Who can connect it
Gmail is a personal connection, tied to your own Google account through Google sign-in. Each person who wants their mailbox in Ordalie connects it themselves; it is not set up for the whole organization. Connecting Gmail requires a Pro plan. By default the connection is read-only, so Ordalie can read your messages but cannot send, change, or delete anything.
Connecting your account
You can start from either of two places. In your workspace, open the left sidebar and use Connect a source in the Documents section; or open Settings and go to the Integrations tab. Both lead to the same list of connectors. Find Gmail there and start the connection.
A Google sign-in window opens. Sign in with your Google account and approve the access Ordalie asks for. Once you approve, the window closes and Gmail appears as a source in the Documents section of your sidebar, listed among your other connections.
Using your emails
Your Gmail labels appear inside your workspace, so you can move through your Inbox, Sent, and any labels you have created yourself. Opening a label shows its messages sorted by date, with the most recent first, and each message keeps its attachments right beside it so the assistant can read and work with them directly.
You can search across your mailbox just by asking the assistant, using Gmail's own search operators, and you can narrow a search to a date range. To bring a particular email into a conversation, mention it with @ so the assistant works from that exact message.
What Ordalie can access
By default the connection requests a single permission, gmail.readonly, which grants read-only access to your mailbox. Because the access is read-only, Ordalie cannot send, modify, or delete emails. If you choose a read-write connection instead, it uses gmail.modify. The connection currently reaches every label in your account.
Common questions
If your Google Workspace enforces stricter sign-in controls, a Google administrator may still need to authorise Ordalie on the Google side before you can connect. To stop the connection, remove Gmail from the Integrations tab in Settings, or revoke Ordalie's access from your Google account's permissions page.
