Word: outline, images, search and downloads

  • Search: open Find, then use Replace with and Replace all to change occurrences of text. Match case distinguishes uppercase and lowercase letters.
  • Outline: hover over the rail to the left of the document to see its headings, then select a heading to jump to that section.
  • Images: select an image to adjust its Text wrapping or Alt text, including in a header or footer.
  • Comments: a comment can span several paragraphs. If the selection is refused, the text you typed stays in the comment field.
  • Opening: if the saved version cannot be loaded, the document shows an error message instead of staying on the loading screen.
  • Equations: exported DOCX files containing equations open in Word without a repair request caused by those equations.
  • Saving: the Word editor stays open when a document is saved or renamed. An explicit reload or a permission change can still reopen it.
  • Answers: Word and PDF exports of an answer or conversation include a title and the export date.
